Francis Stevens was the pseudonym of Gertrude Barrows Bennet (1883 – 1948) and was one of the first writers of dark fantasy. Her works influenced Science Fiction and Horror.
The Heads of Cerberus was originally serialized in The Thrill Book, and is one of the first dystopian novels. A grey dust, inhaled, sends the protagonists to Philadelphia, 2118, and into an alternate timeline where the autocrats control all aspects of life.
